Grin and Bear It (Song)

Good things must come to an end
So you can pick up the pieces and begin again
And you can live life to its fullest potential
Knowing there’s something new around the bend

And you can smile
When you look back at all of the lessons you’ve learned
So why don’t you smile
And laugh and cry and live

A heartbeat goes up, up and down
And there’s nothing in life that cannot turn around
So be happy for the things that you’ve got
And don’t worry about the things you haven’t found

And you can smile
When you look back at all of the lessons you’ve learned
So why don’t you smile
And laugh and cry and live

My Love Was a Dream (Song)

Alone in the wilderness
Far from the sea
It was dark to the eye
And scary for me
So I knelt down and prayed
I was so very afraid
Let God take away my fear
On that ground I stayed

Slept on through the night
Waked to a glittering light
It was the sun on the sea
I knew then I’d be alright
I was surrounded by angels galore
Yet my heart yearned for more
It was then I saw her watching me from the shore
She was someone I’d seen
Her eyes blue her dress green
Her hair was black as night
Face the brightest I’ve ever seen

I began to shake
And my heart began to ache
She was here in my dream
But then I awake
I wish I could slumber
From morning until night
Never feel alone
Or that awful fright
But in the morning I wake
And sooner or later I might be

Alone in the wilderness
I was far from the sea
It was dark to the eye
And scary for me
So I knelt down and prayed
I was so very afraid
Let God take away my fear
On that ground I stayed

True Friendship

image - quo-tes-wall-pa-per.blogspot.com

 Friends will be friends forever
‘til the night ceases to dawn
They will hate each other never
Cannot bicker long
Today I tell you this
You must not forget
If someone you do miss
Be happy that you met

Sometimes it’s hard to say
Love isn’t clear as day
True friends will never leave
You have to believe
They may be half the world apart
But they will care for you from the start
Never will they go
Ask them. They will know

They know your deepest desires
They’ve seen your darkest fears
To them you are a fire
Your love, it sears
Scars you may have given them
But two things they won’t forget
The fact that you love them
And the day you met

The Tiniest Bead

Although in winter’s day we sit
And talk of stories yet untold
Of friends and foes we have not met
Of life and future to unfold

When waiting storm begins attack
And sitting there we are afraid
Of howling winds upon our back
We pay a debt that’s yet unpaid

Of house and home and family naught
The sea has claimed all these to it
Without a chance we stood and fought
But win the sea would not permit

But now that all of us are gone
And you were not completely right
To say that what we did was wrong
To stand pig-headed and to fight

Now with the generations past
So that our children won’t forget
While growing up so strong, so fast
The ancestors they never met

We always dream of what’s to come
And with this dream we become hooked
Although we think that we have none
These simple pleasures overlooked

Of life and love we have a lot
But to this we have no regard
What we need is not sold or bought
Its only found if we look hard

Just live the life that you have now
The future will be what it wants
Just remember to take your bow
And to make your dreams more than thoughts

From deep within ourselves we need
To find the peace the world can give
As small as the tiniest bead
It is all we need to live

On Rhyme

I have heard many a time
That poetry should be in rhyme
But how can this be, the words you see
Must be selected one at a time

But of this I do not fret
For I do now make this bet
That free verse when used instead of rhyme
Will not be a crime

Although the first I prefer
Your style of writing do not deter
For what comes from the heart, must be a part
Of any poem I refer

The Race

image - www.visualphotos.com

The water is cold
A mighty clamp
To you it holds

Wet and damp

Adrenaline surge!
The mighty chase
You have the urge
To make the race

Flip! And Push!
You’re out of the flags
Your legs and tush
Feel like heavy bags

You’re almost there
The wall’s in sight
He won’t dare
Come up on the right

Slap! The wall
Grip it tight
You hope that all
Has ended right

Point of View

Terrorist or Patriot?
Point of view makes a difference
Euthanasia or putting an end to misery?
Think about it.

Human life is short
A minute in the life of the Earth
Don’t always be a judge rather
Live, live YOUR life, not theirs

You may still disagree with some things
But never jump to conclusions
Capital punishment or torture?
It’s not easy is it?
